Wage Structure Effects of Taiwan's Science and Technology Development Policy*

This article extends the demand shift analysis of Katz and Murphy (1992) to examine the impact of Taiwan's science and technology development policy on the wage structure between 1979 and 1998. Changes in factor demand are required to account for changes in the wage structure throughout this time. Decomposing factor demand shifts by industry reveal that for men with a vocational college education, the policy can account for 30 percent of the increase in demand; for a university qualification, the amount is 20 percent. It is argued that the policy effect was mostly exogenous.

文章从社会需求的角度出发,通过对在岗会计人员的问卷调查与分析,对我国当前会计本科教育的观念更新、人才培养目标的定位、会计本科学生应具备的职业素质以及未来职业发展要求等形成了实践的认识,并提出了相关建议。     

Infrastructure of the digital economy: Some empirical findings with the case of Korea

While different conceptions of the digital economy exist, there is a common ground where discussion on digital economy can be fostered. Taking the notion that digital economy as a continuum from the existing old economy, this paper regards the manufacturing sector of the digital equipment as the digital infrastructure. Upon this, this research attempts to analyze the supply and demand side development patterns of the infrastructure of the digital economy in Korea between 1989 and 2000 with the Bank of Korea's data in order to present the dynamic that brought the growth of digital economy. Research findings show that there has been an unique mechanism in the development of IT sector in Korea, while policy measures have been broadly identical to the promotion of other sectors.     

对当前我国大学生就业缺口的经济学分析

从我国高等教育的需求与供给出发，分析了大学生就业缺口的形成机制，指出了大学生就业缺口是高等教育的社会成本与个人成本之间、社会收益与个人收益之间扭曲的结果，只有通过教育系统内部和外部的全面调整，才能真正实现教育与社会发展的良性互动。     

发达国家循环经济之借鉴

当前全球经济形态正向着循环经济发展的划时代转型。本文释解了循环经济的内涵,简要介绍了美、日、德等发达国家推行循环经济的一些做法,分析了我国循环经济发展进程中与发达国家存在的差距。     

Determinates of the decline in the income-velocity of money in China: a new perspective

The income velocity of money in China has been declining since the country’s reform. By studying the money demand behavior in the agricultural and non-agricultural sectors, we found that the marginal propensity to money demand is much higher in the non-agricultural sector. This implies that as the share of the agricultural sector in national income declines, monetary expansion is expected to meet not only the needs of income growth, but also the rapid structural shifts in the sectoral composition of income. Hence, non-inflationary monetary expansion is possible as development proceeds. Short-Term Water Consumption Patterns in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico

Water utility planning efforts are becoming increasingly difficult throughout the world. Located in a semi-arid region, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico is a fast growing municipality that faces both physical infrastructure and water supply constraints. This paper examines monthly water consumption in Ciudad Juárez utilizing a linear transfer function procedure (LTF). Analysis is carried out for per customer usage and for the total number of municipal water system accounts. Models estimated for both series are subjected to a series of simulation benchmark tests. Findings suggest that water consumption in Ciudad Juárez reacts quickly to changes in economic and weather conditions. Out-of-sample simulation results are mixed. Per customer usage forecasts do not fare as well those for total customers relative to random walk benchmarks.Financial support for this research was provided by Southwest Center for Environmental Research Policy Grant W-04-03. 进城农民工能否实现城市化,取决于其行为选择,而这又与进城农民工的需要满足直接相关.本研究以量表测试进城农民工需要状况,再通过因素分析分别从量表中提取因子,用相关分析法找出相关因子,最后用多元回归分析的逐步进入法算出因子间的相关系数和回归系数,根据回归方程建立了模型.     

The Research of the Construction Time on City Infrastructure Projects

The project construction time is not sufficiently considered in the decision-making procedure of the extant city infrastructure project all over the world. From the principle to increase benefit from the investment, the paper discusses the influence of construction time on benefit from investment, the condition of the optimal construction time, the method to confirm the optimal construction time, etc., under the increases of market demand, the paper establishes mathematics model between the construction time and the project benefit, and the model involves the project age, the construction time, the capital cost, the market demand, the discount rate and so on. Finally, the paper quantitatively analyzes the influence characteristics and degrees of construction time to the project profits, and the method to determine the optimal construction time of a project under different market demand .To emphasize that, the paper researches on Chinese cases, but, the conclusion put forward has the widespread significance to the time choice on city infrastructure project of other countries.
